Today’s Daily Dog is Bretagne, the last living search and rescue dog to work at Ground Zero after September 11, 2001. She’s turning 16 years old, an amazing long life for a Golden Retriever. This year she was honored on her birthday with a “Dog’s Best Day.” Have some tissues ready as you watch this video of Bretagne returning to NYC for the true hero’s welcome she deserves. Thank you to Bretagne and all of the human and canine heroes who sacrificed so much to rescue, recover, and provide comfort on 9/11, and in so many places and so many ways since then. We will never forget.
